Dear Beulah Members and Friends,
Reminder of two events:
1. Corey Campbell Benefit – March 13, from 6:30-11:00 p.m. – Okolona Fire Department, 8501 Preston Highway
$5.00 Admission/$10.00 per family – Chili Cook-Off, Silent Auction, Dance, Poker Tournament
Corey Campbell is the grandson of Beulah custodian, Dave Campbell. Corey received a kidney from his sister on December 29. The kidney is working perfectly, however, Corey’s rare kidney disease (focal segmental glomerulosclerosis), that required the kidney transplant, reoccurred the day after Corey’s transplant. Corey will have to continue plasmapheresis treatments three times a week trying to put the disease into remission. The insurance company is denying coverage of the pheresis at this point. Each pheresis treatment carries an estimated cost of $2,300.00.
The Campbell’s have been financially, physically and emotionally stretched. Faith has sustained them. Please consider attending the benefit fund. If you cannot attend and would like to contribute please write your check to Beulah Presbyterian Church and mark on it “Campbell Fund.”
If you would like to read more about Corey’s story, visit www.caringbridge.org/visit/coreycampbell.
2. AARP Driver Safety Class to be held in the Fireside Room, Ramsey Building, on Monday, March 22, from 1:00 – 5:00 p.m. The class will be for ages 55 and older. Participants will learn defensive driving techniques, new traffic laws and rules of the road. You will also learn how to adjust your driving to age-related changes in vision, hearing and reaction time. There are no tests and no behind the wheel driving. This class is required to be eligible for a discount on auto insurance. The class fee is $12 for AARP members and $14 for non-members. For more information or to reserve a seat in the class, contact Jim Pearce, instructor, at 241-8907 .
Everyone have a wonderful weekend.
