Members and Friends,

I am enclosing a few items that you would have read in The Beulahtin if you had received it.  The October newsletter was mailed from the “bulk mailing unit” on Thursday, October 2.  To date, most of you have not received it and I am sorry about that.  It should take no longer than 3-4 days for everyone to receive.  I have been in contact with the local post office as well as the bulk mailing unit and unfortunately no one seems to know where it might be.

1)      Fall Festival with Chili Cook Off Supper & Silent Auction is Friday, October 24 from 5:00-8:00p.m.

Items are needed for the auction, the supper and people to volunteer to run various booths, and for set up and clean up.  Some items needed for supper are:  A pot of chili, cheese, ice cream and toppings and soft drinks.

If you can help with any of this, please call the church office to volunteer.

2)      The pumpkins are being delivered tomorrow (Thursday) at 4:00 p.m.  Many hands are needed to unload and “plant” the patch.  Please come and help if you can.

3)      Westminster Terrace and Rose Anna Hughes Homes are having their Fall Festival this coming weekend, Saturday, October 18, from 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.

6)      The Hunger Walk is Sunday, October 18, after church.

7)      October is Worship & Ministry Staff Appreciation Month and on Sunday, October 26, there will be a reception for Pastor Ken, Terry Hargrave,  Jack Copley, Jonathan Jones and Doug Jones immediately following worship in the Fireside Room.

8)      Caring, Sharing, Living, Giving is the theme for our Stewardship Campaign this year.  Please be in prayer regarding your commitment to the ongoing work of our church.

Note:  I have just spoken to the manager of consumer affairs associated with the postal service.  There have been 6 mailers that have called in the last few days to say that their mail had not been delivered.  They do not know what has happened but they are trying to find out.  If any of you receive your Beulahtin tomorrow, please call me, 239-3231, so I can let the post office know.

Terry Hargrave has asked me to put out a call for a television set.  If any of you have a spare you can donate to the church, it would be appreciated.  Both TV’s in the Ramsey Building are no longer working.  There is a need for one this weekend.  Call the church office if you can help in this way.
