Dear Ones –

Word has reached us through Christie Tompkins that Doug Jones took a nasty fall while out in Kansas City for his annual “Creative Motion” (oh my) course with Frank Heller. He has suffered a broken left elbow / arm, is immobilized from his elbow to his fingers (not a good thing for a pianist!), and is in some pain with all of this! Poor Doug!

He is returning home Saturday evening, with another friend driving his car back home from this workshop. He may be in worship Sunday, and could use a bit of cheering up from us all.

Christie suggested a silly gift to make him laugh – like a back scratcher – or at the very least a hug and a word of encouragement. He will likely have this cast on for 6 weeks.

So now Doug joins our son Andrew, who fell while at the Middle School Conference and fractured his right arm, just above the elbow. Broken arms everywhere!

Keep Doug, and Andrew – and all the rest in your prayers.

Maybe I can teach Andrew to play the bass clef with his left hand and Doug can play the treble clef with his right hand – what a pair they’d make!

And pray too for Don Pierce – who had successful surgery this morning, but more is likely needed in the near future.

Stay dry.

See you Sunday – Luke 12:13 – “How Big Is Your Barn?”
