Dear Friends,

It has been quite a week around here and things don’t appear to be slowing down. By now all of you should have received the letter regarding my change in call. I have been overwhelmed by the response from many people and I am truly touched that I have touched so many lives in this place. It has been a privilege to be your pastor for almost 10 years. And until April 30th, I continue!

So, here is the prayer list.

Please continue to keep the members of Judy Richards family in your thoughts and prayers. Judy died earlier this week and the funeral was Thursday at 1 p.m. with Ken officiating. Judy’s mother is a member of this church and I know that Lucille Harding will particularly covet your prayers and notes of sympathy.

Bill Slaughter died early this morning. His family desires that his service be kept simple and without “hoopla”. To that end they have made arrangements to have calling hours at Porter Funeral Home from 1 to 3 p.m. on Monday, April 5th. There will be additional calling hours here at Beulah from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. These calling hours will be in the sanctuary and at approximately 7:30 p.m. we will hold a brief prayer service that will include scripture, prayers, and a special soloist. There will be a graveside service at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, April 6th. I will be officiating at Bill’s service.

Laura Pierce did not have any surgery. They are still exploring other possible causes for her difficulties. Please continue to keep Laura in your prayers.

Susan Rock continues to recover from her surgery. Every day she feels a little stronger. Please pray for Susan as she continues to recover and returns to work.

Lorna Pierce is having a stress test on April 6 and April 7. Please pray for Lorna as she faces this test and pray for a very positive outcome. Lorna has struggled with diabetes for many years.

Martha Stepro’s son, Jerry Cunningham, has been having some heart problems since last June. He has had a pacemaker, but that doesn’t seem to be solving his problem. They are considering an oblation procedure. This is a procedure that David McCaulley recently had and it worked quite successfully. Of course, there is still worry involved for all. Please keep Martha and Jerry in your prayers.

Our youth are driving back, even as I write this, from their week in St. Louis. From all reports it was an awesome week – a fun group of youth and once again, very hard working! Please continue to keep them in your prayers as they recover and get ready to head back to school!

Ken, Doug, and I have planned an exciting worship for Sunday, April 4th – it is Palm Sunday. You also have to remember to turn your clocks ahead one hour before you go to bed on Saturday! Don’t miss it.

That’s the news from the pews. Blessings, Judy
