Dear Friends,

We suddenly seem to be having a “rush” on surgeries. Please keep the following people in your thoughts and prayers through the next couple of weeks.

Kathy Flowers will be undergoing extensive surgery on Wednesday, March 24th. There is a possibility that cancer is involved, but the doctors are very optimistic. Please pray that Kathy’s surgery goes smoothly and she is cancer free.

Lori Nicholson will be undergoing gall bladder surgery on Monday, March 29th. She is actually relieved to have this because she has been in a lot of discomfort for many months with no diagnosis. Keep Lori in your prayers for easy surgery and quick recovery.

Laura Pierce is scheduled for possible gall bladder removal on March 31. She is having one more test, but the doctors feel the gall bladder is at the root of her troubles, too. Please keep Laura in your prayers.

Bob and Carla Wood, their daughters, Kristin and Carrie, and their two grandchildren, Alex and Jake, are leaving as I write this note for a trip to Denver, Colorado. Bob’s mother, Edna, seems to be going downhill rapidly with her cancer and they want to see her as quickly as possible. Please keep them in your prayers during this difficult time and through the journey they will make.

Pam Scott’s sister, Deb Anderson, is doing reasonably well, but also has a long road to recovery so we ask for your continued prayers.

Lucille Mattingly is making good recovery at Westminster Terrace and she hopes to be going back home relatively quickly. Please continue to pray for Lucille’s full recovery and for her safe-keeping when she returns home.

Our middle school and high school youth will be involved in a retreat at Cedar Ridge this weekend from 6 pm tonight through 12:30 pm on Sunday. There will be approximately 100 Presbyterian youth and adults at Cedar Ridge for this Presbytery-wide retreat. Please pray for the mighty wind of the Holy Spirit to blow through the lives of the youth and the adults that are involved. Terry Hargrave and Shannon Meacham will be going from our church.

On Sunday, March 28th, following 10:40 worship, our youth in 8th grade through 11th grade will be heading to St. Louis for a wonderful mission experience. There are 10 youth going and 3 adult chaperones – Terry Hargrave, Bob Magruder, and Jane Flanigan. Please hold all of these folks up in your prayers as they travel to St. Louis and work in some different mission fields while there.

Grace and Peace to all of you. That’s your news from the pews. Blessings, Judy
