Dear Friends,

Don’t forget that this Friday evening is a potluck and family movie night with some discussion following the movie (all light!). The movie is “Remember the Titans”. Terry Hargrave is going to bake a large ham and suggests that you consider bringing desserts and side dishes. There is no charge. It’s just time for fellowship for all ages. “Remember the Titans” is a great, uplifting movie that is rated PG. We hope to see you there on Friday at 6 pm for supper. The movie will probably start around 7 pm. We’ll show it on our large screen that we use for early worship.

We had another good meal and study group last night. There was an accident during supper time when Emma Breetz’ forehead met the corner of a platform stored in the back of our gym. She did have to make a trip to the emergency room. But she is back at school this morning with 8 stitches looking neat as a pin thanks to the plastic surgeon who was called in! Other than that excitement it was a great evening.

I had the pleasure of visiting with several of the residents at the Health Care Facility at Westminster Terrace this morning. Bonnie Nunn is looking well. Unfortunately she learned yesterday of the death of her brother-in-law. Rudell was the oldest of 8 children and the first one to die at age 94. Now his brother has died at the age of 90. Bonnie’s daughter was able to attend the funeral. Please remember Bonnie in your prayers and drop her a card or note when you can.

Micki Evans is always a delight to visit. She remembers Beulah fondly and her years of being a very active member. She does seem to be more frail these days. Please keep Micki in your prayers.

Lucille Mattingly is at Westminster for some “strengthening” before she returns home. She had quite a bout with pneumonia. She says she can hardly remember what happened it just seemed to overtake her. She is much better and feels blessed by all the cards and visits from folks that used to take care of her mother and aunt at Westminster Terrace. She is getting therapy and hopes to be home soon. Please keep Lucille in your prayers.

I also ran into Kim Clements while over at WT. Kim is a parish nurse who works on Tuesdays and Thursdays in the independent living section called Westminster Terrace – where they have the apartments. She is loving it and the residents love having her around. I know Kim would appreciate your prayers for her work and her residents.

I almost forgot but Jim and Virginia Gregory were just about to board a van to head out to Huber’s – their driver was Bob Tackett. Bob said it would be a great day no matter what the weather because they always had fun on these trips!

Don’t forget about movie night tomorrow (Friday) night. Hope to see you there.

That’s the news from the pews. Blessings, Judy
