Dear Friends,

There always seems to be a lot happening around this place and today is no exception! We have lots of people from preschool and from the Stewardship Commission working hard to set up for tomorrow’s yard sale in the gym! Please feel free to drop by and encourage others to stop in and shop. Half of the proceeds will benefit the pre-school and the other half benefit the mission programs of Beulah (all of our designated mission causes!). The yard sale is from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm.

Jim Pierce was able to go home from the hospital on Wednesday afternoon and now that his nasty gall bladder has been removed, he is truly on the mend. Please continue to pray for his restored health and strength. The Pierce’s have been most appreciative of the cards and calls expressing concern. Keep up the good work.

I am asking special prayers for Brittany Walker who is a friend of this congregation. Brittany is a 17-year-old student at Fern Creek High School and she dates Michael Adams, son of Diane Adams. At about 2 a.m. this morning Brittany went into her mother’s bedroom and found her mother dead. Her mother has had a wide variety of health concerns over the years but her death was unexpected and is currently unexplained. Brittany called Michael and Diane in the middle of the night and they went directly to the apartment to be with Brittany. She has no other siblings and very limited contact with extended family. Please keep Brittany, Michael, and Diane in your prayers over the next several days. Any expressions of sympathy can be sent to the home of Diane Adams at 6000 Mercury, 40291. Lots of prayers are needed in this difficult situation.

Please especially keep Diane in your prayers, too. As you may remember, Diane was witness to the sudden death of a student in Fern Creek High School several weeks ago. Diane was with his family and other students at this time. Diane’s own mother has been critically ill with pneumonia and in the last 10 days at the nursing home 6 patients in her mother’s wing have died from pneumonia, including her mother’s roommate to whom Diane was very close. The stresses of our lives overwhelm us with sadness at times and the hope, strength, and comfort of our Christian family is very important.

There is a special called Session meeting for 10 a.m. on Sunday morning for the purpose of receiving five new members! There is also elder training from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday afternoon. We are planning for a “group” trip to see The Passion of the Christ on Saturday, March 6th with pizza and pop at the Hockenberry’s afterwards. Don’t forget that our Wednesday study groups start on March 3. Border’s is now offering The Purpose Driven Life at 30% off if you still have to buy the book. Please try and read the first seven chapters by Wednesday!

That’s the news from the pews. Blessings, Judy
